Uglich Kremlin and St.Dimitrius Church on the Blood

The Uglich History and Art Museum is situated on the territory of the Kremlin in the center of the old Uglich. The museum always attracts attention of Russian and foreign tourists. Numerous exhibits connected with the history of Uglich and Russia as well are displayed in the unique architectural monuments of the XV–XIX centuries. In the oldest structure of the Uglich Kremlin – the Prince’s chambers, erected in 1480 by Andrey the Bolshoi – one can see two permanent exhibitions one dedicated to tsarevitch Dmitry and the other – to the history of Uglich. The church of tsarevitch Dmitry on blood was constructed at the end of XVII century on a death spot of this innocent child. One of the exhibits of the exposition is the very “exile bell” which notified about the beginning of the so-called “Troubled times” in Russia.
